Wings Recipe

Since the football and x factor is back in full swing, there is nothing better than these sticky wings to tuck in to on the couch.

Why not add a chilli to the sauce to give it an extra kick if you like spicy food.
Chicken wings from your local Craft Butcher are taken off a whole chicken so they are a good size and quality.

16 chicken wings
2 handfuls of sesame seeds for garnishing
For the sauce

Half an onion finely diced
1 clove of garlic finely chopped
1 heaped tablespoon of brown sugar
4tbsps of tomato ketchup
1tbsp of smoked paprika
1tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
3tbsps of sweet chilli sauce

Preheat the oven to 200oC. On a roasting tray scatter around the chicken wings and season with some salt and oil. Drop the temperature of the oven to 180oC and roast for 30mins.

In the mean time you are going to make the sauce. In a saucepan on a medium to high heat sweat the onion and garlic until soft and then add in the brown sugar. What you are looking for is a dark caramel. This usually takes 30 seconds to a minute on a high heat. Now add in the smoked paprika, ketchup, worcestershire sauce and sweet chilli and heat through for 30 seconds.

Once the chicken is cooked spoon over half the sauce and place back into the oven for another 5-10 mins to crisp up.
Once crisped up, serve them in a big bowl with the rest of the sauce spooned over and sprinkle over the sesame seeds. Enjoy
